Advanced English Testing
IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
IELTS is an internationally recognized testing system that is widely accepted by companies, organizations, professional bodies and academic institutions throughout the world.
There are two Formats:
Aimed at those who wish to gain admittance to English speaking Universities or Institutions of further education and for professionals wanting to study or practice in an English speaking country. This tests the comprehensive skills required for academic programs. It is also utilized by professional bodies for accreditation purposes to demonstrate that members have the necessary practical English abilities.
General Training Version:
This is intended tor those candidates considering non academic training or work experience; it is also a requirement for Canadian immigration.
No minimum score is required to pass the test. Each Institution or Body will stipulate a minimum threshold score for their specific purposes. The test report form issued to candidates will indicate a score value from 1 (no knowledge) to 9 (expert).
Our instructors are all highly qualified ESL teachers who hold a University degree and have many years of experience with The Cambridge Testing systems.
Exams are held every month throughout the year which allows for greater flexibility for students wishing to study for, and take the exam. The recommended study period advised is from 4 to 12 weeks prior to the exam date depending on your English proficiency at commencement.
TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication)
TOEIC is used as an accepted standard of performance by over 5000 International Companies in 60 countries throughout the world, but is particularly valuable in Asia.
This test evaluates the English Language from an objective perspective and thus provides an International standard of language skills which is used for assessments purposes by Universities and Industry.
Questions are based on real life situations which are particularly useful for working in an International environment. It is thus a good indicator for organizations to determine if a candidate is suitable for a particular task.
The exam is comprised of four components
The Listening and Reading score is graded from 10 (No useful proficiency) to 990 (International Proficiency)
The Speaking and Writing score are scored out of 200.
Organizations individually determine their requirements with respect to your score.
